Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is on the lookout for a Principal Cyber Systems Administrator to enhance our team of results-oriented and customer-centric professionals. Your daily responsibilities include:

  • Developing solutions and ensuring the seamless operation of multi-user computer systems, collaborating with Cyber Systems Engineers and Cyber Security teams.
  • Providing Tier 1 and Tier 2 technical support (Domain Administration, System Administration, and Network Administration) across various enclaves.
  • Offering recommendations and taking action to enhance user experience and enterprise system management.
  • Driving technical solutions from initial testing through to implementation.
  • Collaborating with users and stakeholders.
  • Additional tasks may involve maintaining system documentation, optimizing system performance, installing system-wide software, and managing mass storage allocation.

Minimum Basic Education / Experience requirements: A minimum of six (6) years of relevant experience with a bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, and/or Mathematics (STEM); or four (4) years with a Master's degree. Note: Four (4) years of additional relevant experience may substitute for a degree.

Additional Basic Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship is required, along with an active DoD Top Secret/SCI security clearance that was active within the last 24 months. TS/SCI eligibility must be established by the start date.
  • Must possess DoD 8570 Certification for IAT Level II or higher prior to the start date.

Preferred Qualifications:

Strong working knowledge in three or more of the following areas:

  • Administration of virtualization environments utilizing technologies such as vCenter, ESXi, and storage provisioning, including the configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of virtual servers and workstations.
  • Experience with various Linux distributions, assisting end users through command line navigation across different Linux Operating Systems, including Ubuntu, Red Hat, Pypi, and CentOS.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and configuring Windows operating systems and Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, DHCP, GPOs, DNS, LDAP, MS Exchange, MECM (Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager), MS SQL, and WSUS.
  • Management of both physical and virtual network environments, with experience in Cisco and/or VMware NSX technologies, and knowledge of routing protocols, ports, and layer 2/3 switch configuration.
  • Understanding of storage solutions, including NetApp ONTAP and/or Synology, as well as backup applications like VEEAM, with the capability to implement backup and recovery solutions.
  • Experience in scripting (e.g., Batch, Bash, PowerShell, Python) to automate routine tasks.

What to expect:

  • First 30 days: Onboarding activities will include Northrop Grumman training requirements, program overviews, system architecture familiarization, and department-specific training to establish a solid foundation for the new team member. Introductions to management and team leads will provide insight into team dynamics and identify key areas where you will contribute to the mission.
  • Days 30 through 90: Further integration into the team, actively collaborating with experienced members to gain a deeper understanding of daily tasks and requirements. Tasks will be assigned at a pace that ensures your success.
  • Day 90 and beyond: Engaging in mission-focused opportunities with the potential for collaboration across multiple teams. From leading daily activities to testing innovative feature enhancements in the enterprise architecture, you will have the opportunity to invest in your future while delivering maximum value to our customer's mission.

Salary Range: $84,200 - $126,400. The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers various factors when determining base salary offers, such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions and allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
