Job Title: Cyber Systems Engineering Department Manager

At Northrop Grumman, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cyber Systems Engineering Department Manager to lead our team of cyber engineers and information systems administrators. As a key member of our Mission Systems sector, you will be responsible for managing and guiding managers and IT engineers, meeting department objectives, and setting objectives and monitoring yearly progress for your team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and guide managers and IT engineers
  • Meet department objectives
  • Set objectives and monitor yearly progress for your team
  • Recruit, interview, and hire top-ranked engineering, IT, and management talent
  • Provide timely, constructive support and feedback to your reports on a regular basis
  • Complete quarterly performance assessments of your team members
  • Motivate your team members and facilitate regular meetings with them
  • Provide mentoring and career development to each team member
  • Coordinate training for each team member
  • Provide appropriate tools and resources for your team's software development activities
Project Engineering Leadership:
  • Leadership of program technical execution in order to meet cost and schedule constraints
  • Daily interaction with the customer
  • Program staffing for optimal execution
  • Technical direction, guidance, and mentoring of project team members
  • Working programs, proposals, or internally-funded activities in a technical or leadership role
  • Risk-mitigation planning and execution
  • Strategic problem solving
  • Earned value management
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or other STEM-related field, or 12 years of experience in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other STEM-related field with a B.S. degree, or 10 years with an MS, or 7 years with a PhD.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership, engineering or IT management, and/or program management experience. A minimum of 7 years technical manager experience.
  • US Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong, demonstrated communications and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in multiple relevant technology areas, such as application software development, graphical user interface design, creation of web applications, embedded software, or software security
  • Experience in recruiting and developing top engineering talent
  • Experience with the Agile development methodology
  • An ability to showcase the company's capabilities to existing and potential customers to support business development activities
  • Experience with U.S. Government contracts
  • M.S., M.B.A., or other advanced degree
  • Active Top Secret security clearance strongly preferred
