Job Description

MIT is seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer to join our Systems Engineering Team. As a key member of our interdisciplinary research group, you will collaborate with researchers to identify requirements, design architectural specifications, and develop robust systems that advance our understanding of natural intelligence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop software and infrastructure to support research projects
  • Collaborate with researchers to identify user requirements and develop technical specifications
  • Participate in constructive peer code review and debugging
  • Develop and maintain operational documentation
  • Engage in planning and architecture discussions

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • At least two years' experience in programming and machine learning toolkits
  • Experience with software development practices, including version control and CI/CD
  • Strong project-management, analytical, problem-solving, organizational, decision-making, and written and verbal English communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in computer vision, optimization, time-series forecasting, natural language understanding, data mining, and/or visualization
  • Research experience developing and testing machine learning models
  • Familiarity with one or more cloud platforms
  • Experience with virtualization and containerization
