Position Overview:
Our client, a reputable healthcare facility, is in search of dedicated Certified Nursing Assistants who excel in multitasking, work well within a team, and provide high-quality, safe, and compassionate patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
Within a restorative care framework, you will deliver essential nursing and personal care to patients. Your duties will include assisting patients with hygiene, mobility, toileting, eating, and engaging in recreational activities. You will also ensure a clean and safe environment while respecting each patient's individuality.
- Prepare the patient's room for their arrival and complete relevant sections of the admission assessment form.
- Monitor vital signs such as temperature, pulse, respiration rate, and blood pressure, documenting all findings accurately. Report any abnormalities to the registered nurse.
- Assist with bathing, dressing, and undressing patients, as well as changing bed linens on both occupied and unoccupied beds.
- Maintain cleanliness and comfort for bedbound patients.
- Respond to call lights to assess patient needs and communicate with the appropriate team member.
- Serve and collect meal trays and snacks, assist patients during meals, and document food and fluid intake/output as required. Ensure the patient's water pitcher is clean and filled with fresh water during each shift.
- Reposition and turn bedfast patients, assist with toileting, and collect specimens as instructed.
- Transport patients using wheelchairs or carts, and assist with ambulation as needed. Prepare patients for physical examinations.
- Perform assigned tasks within the scope of a Certified Nursing Assistant.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Ability to care for individuals of all ages who are ill or disabled.
- Capability to follow instructions meticulously in providing care to those who rely on you.
- Strong communication skills to interact compassionately with patients of all ages.
Minimum Requirements:
- High School diploma.
- Active CNA Certification in Illinois or enrollment in a nursing program with successful completion of basic clinical rotations.
- CPR - Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association.
- Achieve a minimum of 90% on annual mandatory Health and Safety Training assessments.
- Unit-based recognition for Capillary Blood Glucose Monitoring.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate's degree.
- One year of college or nursing education or equivalent experience.
- Prior experience in a healthcare environment with a proven ability to relate to patients, families, and medical staff.
