Position Summary:
We are seeking an entry-level laboratory technician to contribute to our andrology department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct semen evaluations, including assessments of sperm count, motility, morphology, viability, leukocyte screening, and anti-sperm antibody testing.
- Execute routine sperm preparations for insemination and cryopreservation procedures.
- Support physicians during examinations and insemination processes.
- Ensure precise and up-to-date records of cryopreservation activities.
- Assist with MESA/TESE procedures.
- Perform hormone assays using the automated Siemens Immulite2000 system or Centaur XP.
- Analyze and interpret hormone assay results.
- Maintain documentation for all research protocols.
- Troubleshoot issues with the Immulite 2000 and Centaur XP systems.
- Guide patients to collection areas.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science.
- At least six months of laboratory training or experience in a clinical setting.
- Ability to work autonomously, demonstrating sound judgment and composure in a high-standard environment.
- Strong listening, counseling, interpersonal, and communication skills to effectively manage sensitive patient interactions.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and resourceful with excellent follow-up and computer skills.
- Demonstrated high energy, interpersonal, and multitasking abilities, along with a self-directed work ethic.
- Availability for weekend rotations and certain holidays.
- Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.
