Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our Hematology/Oncology team at UAB Hospital. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality patient care, collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals, and contribute to the development of our Hematology/Oncology program.

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and manage acutely ill hematology patients, performing procedures within the defined specialty scope of practice.
  • Coordinate patient care from admission through discharge, ensuring seamless transitions and optimal outcomes.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans, taking into account patient preferences, medical history, and current health status.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care.
  • Participate in performance improvement activities, contributing to the development of best practices and quality initiatives.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Nursing with an Acute Care NP or graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant program required.
  • Currently certified as an Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) with Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP) Specialty by the Alabama Board of Nursing or licensed as a Physician Assistant by the Alabama Board of Medical Examiners with certification as a Physician Assistant (PA-C) by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants required.
  • Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) is required or should be obtained within 30 days of employment.
