About the Role

Vitalant is seeking a highly skilled Compensation Strategist to join our team. As a key member of our compensation team, you will play a crucial role in shaping our compensation strategies and ensuring that our pay decisions align with our compensation philosophy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Consult with HR Partners and leaders to provide expert consultation and analysis on compensation policy interpretation, market analysis, job evaluation, and other compensation projects and initiatives.
  • Manage the administration of job analysis process using market survey sources and internal equity analysis, completing regular broad-based market studies and making recommendations based on market data and trends.
  • Manage the library of job descriptions across all functions, creating and maintaining documentation around job architecture titling and grading guidance for HR Partners and operational leaders.
  • Implement and administer the annual merit, leadership incentive awards, and staff monetary recognition programs.
  • Stay abreast of federal, state, and city minimum wage changes, evaluating financial and compression impacts.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition to provide guidance on market-competitive hiring rates, market trends, and analyze the appropriate compensation for hard-to-fill jobs.
  • Provide ad-hoc analysis and guidance to HR Partners and operational leaders on locations experiencing high turnover due to local competitors recruiting at a higher wage.
  • Manage the data in Compensation Management analysis/market pricing solution, developing subject matter expertise on tools and resources and utilizing the software platform to its fullest potential.
  • Develop and execute compensation-related training and communications, ensuring effective distribution using various channels, including partnering with the internal communications team.
  • Conduct regular audits and analysis on pay equity across the enterprise, reporting findings and making recommendations on how to bridge any gaps, including financial impact.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related area or equivalent combination of education and experience in compensation and/or benefits required.
  • Familiarity with applicable state and federal wage and hour regulations required.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel knowledge required.
  • PHR, CCP, or equivalent (World At Work) certification preferred.
  • Five years of related Human Resources experience, including three years of compensation management experience, ideally in a healthcare organization.
  • Experience working with HR systems, external market survey software platforms, CompAnalyst, and Workday preferred.
