The Core Infrastructure Organization

The Core Infrastructure organization at Stripe is responsible for building and operating the infrastructure services and cloud technologies that power our business.

We're a team of experts who design, build, and maintain the scalable, high-performance systems that support our products and services.

We're seeking a highly skilled engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of our distributed caching platform.

The Distributed Caching Platform

The Distributed Caching Platform team within the Core Infrastructure organization has built a sophisticated, highly scalable, and ultra-low latency caching platform.

This mission-critical infrastructure serves as the backbone for a multitude of Stripe products, handling over 10 million requests per second with an impressively low latency of less than 5 ms and upholding a stellar five 9's of reliability.

We're actively seeking a talented engineer to join our team and help us deliver the next generation of caching platform features.

Responsibilities
  1. Design, build, and maintain distributed cloud infrastructure and platform services.
  2. Work on scaling, automation, reliability, and observability of infrastructure services.
  3. Operate your service, debug issues, and support customers.
  4. Participate in roadmap planning and prioritization.
Requirements
  • 10+ years of professional experience in a software development role.
  • Proven track record of building large-scale, cloud-based complex distributed systems.
  • Experience building and operating infrastructure and tools that empower developers/product teams to deliver business value.
  • Experience leading and creating strong technical teams that balance operational excellence, collaboration, and user needs.
  • Experience with operational excellence and a deep understanding of metrics, alarms, and dashboards.
  • Experience handling critical incidents for production systems.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience building large-scale distributed systems in AWS.
  • Experience working with distributed cache services like AWS Elasticache and technologies like memcached, Redis, etc.
  • Experience with C, C++, Go, Ruby, or Java.
  • Experience with Linux OS.
