Job Summary:

Vitreo-Retinal Associates is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Ophthalmic Technician Assistant to join our team. As an Ophthalmic Technician Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our doctors in providing excellent patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate patient flow and assist the doctor in preliminary testing
  • Verify medical and vision insurances and effectively communicate with patients, doctors, and managers
  • Answer inquiries through phone, email, and in-person requests
  • Provide exceptional customer service during every patient encounter
  • Display a professional attitude, greet patients promptly with a smile, and thank them when they leave

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
  • Favorable result on Background Check
  • Basic computer skills
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Excitement to learn and grow

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) or Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT)

Work Environment:

Our offices are open from Monday-Friday 8am-5pm. You may need to work a little earlier/later as needed. You will have to work occasional on-call shifts on weekends as needed.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Education and/or Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED), one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
