We are seeking a highly skilled Risk Management Specialist to join our team at Fairwinds Credit Union. As a key member of our risk management team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic risk assessments, maintaining and monitoring risks and controls, and serving on the Risk Oversight Committee to instill a culture of risk awareness.
Key Responsibilities- Develop Strategic Enterprise Risk Assessments: Collaborate with the SVP to develop annual strategic enterprise risk assessments using quantitative and probabilistic techniques to determine and communicate the most significant enterprise risks.
- Manage Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Risks: Update, maintain, and monitor ERM risks, controls, and reporting within the ERM software, performing risk assessments in accordance with ERM risk assessment procedures.
- Serve on the Risk Oversight Committee: Participate in the Risk Oversight Committee, a management-level committee that oversees the credit union's ERM process, developing and sharing risk control strategies, standards, and procedures to instill a culture of risk awareness.
- Lead Business Continuity Planning: Serve as a member of the Business Continuity Plan (BCP) Leadership Team, leading and overseeing the design and implementation of the business continuity plan and program across all business line functions to support response, develop resiliency, and enable recovery from events that disrupt business operations.
- Coordinate Vendor Management: Serve as the Vendor Management Coordinator, ensuring timely responses to critical due diligence, evaluating and documenting adequacy of insurance coverage for vendor relationships, and establishing standards for insurance coverage based on critical services performed by vendors.
- Manage User Access Authorities: Determine core system access required to perform job functions for each credit union position, establishing and overseeing compliance with approved authority levels and procedures to grant, review, and terminate user access.
- Manage Loan Quality Control: Analyze QC results to recommend adjustments in underwriting practices and procedures and loan officer training, notifying lending management of secondary market compliance issues as required by FNMA standards.
- Education: Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university.
- Experience: 4-6 years of experience in financial services, with credit union experience preferred.
- Certification: Existing certification or completion of certification in Risk Management.
- Knowledge: Thorough knowledge of all risk streams.
- Competitive Salary: Compensation for this position begins at $100,000/year.
