Job Title: Mechanical Engineer

At Sterling Engineering, Inc., we are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, testing, and building robotic systems that are productive and safe to operate.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop robotic systems, including articulated arm robots, grippers/end effectors, machine vision, electronic control systems, and application software.
  • Utilize Solidworks to create drawings and schematics for robotic systems.
  • Develop and debug computer programs used to run robotics systems, process sensor data, and calibrate robots.
  • Investigate field failures, identify spare parts requirements, and develop maintenance procedures for customer applications.
  • Provide technical support and training to Sales representatives and customers on all robotic products.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Robotics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering with emphasis on mechatronics.
  • Minimum 2+ years of work experience in the development and implementation of automation, robotic simulation, electrical design, programming, schematics, control system integration, and repair and analysis of electromechanical applications of automated machinery.
  • Working knowledge of industry codes and standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Self-starter with ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and properly prioritize activities.
  • Proven ability to rapidly diagnose, troubleshoot, and debug problems in automated systems.
