Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist to join our team at Corewell Health. As a Radiology Technologist, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic exams in all areas of general radiology, ensuring accurate and efficient results. You will work under supervision and according to established policies and procedures, demonstrating good clinical skills and providing the best possible images for interpretation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform quality diagnostic exams after verifying patient identification and physician orders.
  • Acquire accurate patient histories and document in the medical record.
  • Monitor patients during procedures to ensure patient safety.
  • Perform radiographic and related patient care procedures using age-appropriate methods for patients' physical abilities and limitations.
  • Ensure STAT requests are relayed to radiologists in a timely manner.
  • Effectively communicate with customers, administrative staff, medical staff, and peers on an inter/intra-department level.
  • Demonstrate ability to proficiently operate diagnostic imaging equipment and follow policy for any malfunctions or quality control failures.
  • Utilize ALARA standards for minimizing radiation exposure to patients, staff, and self.
  • Provide procedural information/education to patients/families prior to each exam.
  • Contribute to the effective operations of the department by assisting fellow employees and staying in compliance with quality assurance and quality control.
  • Ability to accurately and efficiently use hospital computer systems for verifying orders, viewing schedules, and sending information to PACS.
  • Assist in the training of students/new hires.
  • Ensure equipment is wiped down between patients and exam rooms are clean and properly stocked with linen and supplies.
  • Maintain competency in all assigned areas, including fluoroscopic, general diagnostic, orthopedic, and operating procedures.
Requirements
  • Graduate of Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) Accredited Radiography program.
  • Training gained at student level.
  • CRT-Radiologic Technologist Registration - ARRT American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (180 days required).
  • CRT-Radiographer (R) - ARRT American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (Upon Hire required).
  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association (Upon Hire required) or CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross (Upon Hire required).
