Position: Lab Technician
This role involves essential support for clinical research coordinators by collecting, processing, and dispatching laboratory samples daily, adhering to sponsor protocols, Flourish Research's guidelines, and OSHA standards. Additionally, this position offers administrative assistance to the regulatory department, clinical research coordinators, and management to ensure seamless operations at Flourish Research.
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7 AM - 3:30 PM
Salary: $20-$22 per hour based on experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package, paid time off, and 401k matching.
*Overtime compensation is available for weekend, evening, or early morning shifts as required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct phlebotomy procedures, particularly venipuncture and IV line placement.
- Adhere to instruction manuals and protocols for laboratory specimens within designated timelines.
- Collect, process, and ship laboratory specimens following OSHA and IATA regulations.
- Maintain IATA certification for laboratory and clinical operations.
- Uphold patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
- Promptly report any adverse events or laboratory incidents to management.
- Ensure the availability of necessary laboratory supplies.
- Communicate professionally with patients, sponsors, physicians, and staff.
- Participate in training to remain informed about federal regulations and Flourish Research policies.
- Pursue educational opportunities to enhance knowledge of research and regulatory practices.
- Perform all duties with safety and diligence.
- Represent Flourish Research with professionalism in all interactions.
- Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent laboratory experience.
*Candidates without lab experience but with backgrounds as medical assistants, phlebotomists, or similar roles are encouraged to apply.
Experience:
- At least 1 year of experience in a laboratory setting.
- Required phlebotomy experience, specifically in venipuncture/IV.
- Experience in sample collection and handling is essential.
