Job Title: Windows Engineer

Comptech Associates Inc is seeking a highly skilled Windows Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our Windows infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP.
  • Provide Tier 3 support for Windows-related issues, including troubleshooting and resolving complex problems.
  • Develop and implement scripts to automate tasks and extract information from various systems.
  • Collaborate with the Unit Manager to plan, design, and implement Windows and Virtual infrastructure projects.
  • Assist in supporting Microsoft Windows Server environments services and resources for optimal efficiency, functionality, security, and management.
  • Help support State Fund's VMWare Virtualization environments services and resources for optimal efficiency, functionality, security, and management.
  • Participate in capacity planning and Disaster Recovery.
  • Help define, improve, and promote architecture and standards based on ITIL best practices.
  • Assist and support all development and troubleshoot complex application issues.
  • Provide on-site and remote technical assistance to other team resources and to customers.
Requirements:
  • 7+ years of related system engineering/Infrastructure and customer support experience.
  • Extensive experience related to security in Microsoft Server 2008R2, 2012, and 2016.
  • 5+ years of experience in enterprise corporate infrastructure design, implementation, and troubleshooting.
  • 5+ years of experience with both Microsoft Server 2008R2, 2012, and 2016.
  • 5+ years of experience with VMWare 5.x and 6.x.
  • 5+ years of experience with Active Directory.
  • 5+ years of supporting Datacenter co-located equipment.
  • Extensive experience in support.
  • Experience with knowledge of Windows, Linux, and Unix Operating systems.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, networking, and security concepts.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to apply them during business-impacting incidents.
  • Capable of mentor others and lead by example.
  • Project Management, Problem Solving, People Management.
  • Ability to work on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires in-depth evaluation of various factors.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in addressing and remediating Windows server and VMware vulnerabilities.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in Server Hardening methodologies.
  • Extensive knowledge of the use of SCCM to deploy and install Microsoft Security updates.
Desired Qualifications and Certifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field (e.g. Computer Science, IT, or similar disciplines).
  • Microsoft Server Security Certification.
