Job DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced Broadcast Engineer to join our team in San Francisco. As a key member of our technical team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of all broadcast systems and equipment, maintaining high-quality broadcast standards, and providing support for live and pre-recorded operations.
Responsibilities- System Maintenance: Oversee and maintain the proper functioning of broadcast equipment, control rooms, transmitters, and communication systems.
- Technical Support: Provide assistance to production teams, including troubleshooting and resolving technical issues during live broadcasts and recordings.
- Equipment Setup and Calibration: Assist with the setup, configuration, and calibration of broadcast systems and equipment.
- Signal Monitoring: Monitor broadcast signals to ensure the highest quality of audio and implement quality control checks to meet broadcast standards.
- Maintenance and Repairs: Perform regular maintenance on broadcast equipment to prevent downtime and conduct repairs as necessary.
- Issue Resolution: Quickly identify and troubleshoot issues related to equipment and systems to minimize disruptions to our listeners.
- Training and Support: Provide training and support as needed to other staff members.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations for broadcast quality, safety, and equipment use.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of broadcast engineering experience.
- Technical Expertise: Hands-on experience with FM, HD, and AM transmitter systems, as well as AM directional antenna systems.
- Equipment Knowledge: Ability to inspect, repair, and maintain all broadcast radio station equipment, including transmitters, antennas, satellite downlinks, automation systems, studio equipment, remote equipment, generators, telephone systems, and related equipment.
- FCC Regulations: Knowledge of FCC rules and regulations.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and writing communication skills.
- Time Management: Proven ability to manage time effectively, including multitasking.
- Network Knowledge: Experience with digital audio and audio streaming.
- Facilities Maintenance: Ability to assist with the maintenance and development of all aspects of technical facilities, including studios, transmitters, telephone systems, satellite, STL, computers, and data networks.
