Overview

$20,000 Sign-on Bonus

Memorial Health University Medical Center is seeking a skilled Audiologist to join our busy ENT practice. As an Audiologist at our institution, you will provide comprehensive audiological assessments for patients of all ages, utilizing a range of testing modalities to determine the type and degree of hearing impairment, site of damage, and effects on comprehension and speech.

Responsibilities will include conducting hearing evaluations, immittance testing, otoacoustic emissions (OAE) testing, auditory brainstem response (ABR) testing, and videonystagmography (VNG) testing. You will also treat BPPV using canalith repositioning maneuvers and interpret test results to create treatment plans, referring patients to community services as needed.

Qualifications
  • Doctoral degree or Masters degree in Audiology.
  • Professional audiology license issued by the State of Illinois.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competency from ASHA.
  • National provider identifier (NPI).
Environmental Factors

This position is performed within an environment of occasional exposure to irritating, unpleasant, or hazardous elements or conditions.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and move through an office environment. Other physical demands will include canalith repositioning maneuvers for patients with BPPV.
Mental Demands
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to work under pressure with multiple interruptions.
  • Ability to adhere to strict confidentiality requirements.
Responsibilities
  • Administers and interprets a variety of tests, including air and bone conduction and speech reception and discrimination tests, to determine the type and degree of hearing impairment, site of damage, and effects on comprehension and speech.
  • Administers and interprets VNG testing to primarily adult populations and provides treatment for BPPV via canalith repositioning maneuvers.
  • Evaluates test results in relation to behavioral, social, educational, and medical information obtained from patients, families, teachers, Speech Pathologists, and other professionals to determine communication problems related to hearing disability.
  • Effectively involves and educates patient and caregivers in the plan of care.
  • Refers patient to Physician or Surgeon if medical treatment is determined necessary.
  • Performs all job duties in a safe manner with respect to personal safety of self and others.
  • Follows established policy and procedures for care, maintenance, and operation of equipment.
  • Utilizes time management skills and flexibility to provide optimal care within this fast-paced environment.
  • Documents evaluations and recommendations that relate to clinical findings in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrates evidence of patient/caregiver and team involvement/collaboration.
  • Serves as a preceptor/mentor for students.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
