Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer the field office to achieve project profitability and schedule goals.
  • Perform all essential Project Engineer responsibilities, including attending and documenting project meetings, setting up and maintaining project filing systems, and updating and maintaining all sets of drawings, specifications, and logs.
  • Distribute all documents to subcontractors and maintain document logs.
  • Assist with the preparation of CPM schedules and updating and maintaining the master CPM schedule.
  • Evaluate field problems and document RFI's, prepare and maintain RFI logs on the CMIC system, and review, evaluate, and transmit submittals.
  • Prepare and maintain submittal logs, expediting logs, and labor cost reports.
  • Verify original estimate quantities for labor cost reports and report quantities in place and maintain labor cost reports.
  • Cost code and/or verify correct codes on time sheets, prepare and document extra work orders, and review and assemble change order submittals and quantity surveys.
  • Maintain reference logs on the CMIC system, progress photo albums, and compile contract close-out documents (O&M manuals, as-built documents, etc.).
  • Document punch list work and complete other responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
  • Engineering, Construction Management, or Architectural degree, or completion of the Construction Management Certificate Program, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Project Engineer.
  • Field experience desirable, e.g., carpenter.
  • Basic estimating and scheduling skills.
  • Ability to read and understand plans and specifications.
  • Effective written and verbal English language communication skills.
  • Ability to use independent judgment; self-starting.
  • Drafting and computer skills desirable.
