Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Facilities to join our team at CoreWorks LLC. As a key member of our senior living environment, you will be responsible for the overall management of the Plant Operations & Maintenance Department.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review and evaluate existing programs, services, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with Vice President-Operating Officer, medical, administrative, and supervisory staff, as well as community groups, agencies, contractors, architects, and engineers to plan, organize, coordinate, and/or communicate programs, services, policies, and/or procedures.
  • Monitor the flow and quality of work to ensure timely completion of workload and adherence to facility standards and regulations.
  • Prepare and manage departmental budgets, including utilities energy savings programs.
  • Ensure compliance with the Joint Commission, State Health Department, EPA, DEP, ADA, UST, and other regulatory business appointments.
  • Monitor work performance and prepare and/or review performance evaluations for assigned personnel.
  • Orient new employees and provide on-the-job training to assigned personnel.
  • Resolve complaints and discipline employees, as required.
  • Interview applicants and recommend qualified individuals for hire.
  • Inform employees of salient features of facility's personnel and employee relations programs and answer questions regarding it or refer them to appropriate sources for additional information.
  • Plan, coordinate, and monitor construction and development of physical facilities.
  • Review, evaluate, and recommend approval of plans for construction.
  • Advise on structural changes and additions and/or modifications to buildings.
  • Interview independent contractors to receive and analyze bids, including blueprint analysis of proposed changes.
  • Submit bids and recommendations to administration for consideration.
  • Serve as liaison with contractors, architects, engineers, and material and equipment suppliers.
  • Negotiate with outside vendors for preferred agreements.
  • Responsible for grounds care, snow removal, and in-house fire response team.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (or related fields) or equivalent work experience.
  • 3-5 years responsibility at a director level in areas of engineering, maintenance, and construction in a health care institution.
  • Proficiency in CMMS Systems, Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and make sound decisions, sometimes under stress.
  • Work whatever hours are necessary to maintain facility in a safe manner, including nights and weekends.
  • Good physical condition and ability to operate departmental equipment.
