Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Programmer/Analyst II to join our team at The Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy and Clinical Practice. The successful candidate will have a strong background in programming and analytics, with experience working with large datasets and statistical software.

Key Responsibilities
  • Under the direction of the research project team, identify and extract relevant data from various sources, merging and transforming datasets as needed.
  • Develop and implement statistical methods to analyze data, using programming languages such as SAS, R, and STATA.
  • Communicate results to the research team through clear and concise reports, including data visualizations and summaries.
  • Collaborate with the research team to design and implement data linkage activities, ensuring consistency and accuracy in data extraction and analysis.
  • Participate in the preparation of grant proposals, research reports, and scientific presentations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as Public Health, Economics, Computer Science, or Statistics.
  • 3-5 years of experience in programming and analytics, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong programming skills in languages such as SAS, R, and STATA.
  • Experience working with large datasets and statistical software.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience working in a research setting.
  • Technical leadership or mentorship experience.
  • Experience working with medical claims data in CMS's Virtual Research Data Center (VRDC).
  • Knowledge of data mining and predictive analytics with machine learning.
