Position Overview

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver professional nursing care to patients in non-complex situations under the guidance of a Physician and Clinical Practice Manager or Clinical Coordinator.
  • Provide direct patient care within the scope of licensure, adhering to company policies.
  • Ensure accountability for the quality of care delivered, including the maintenance of standard precautions.
  • Facilitate efficient patient flow within the practice.
  • Collect and accurately label lab specimens in accordance with departmental protocols.
  • Prioritize patient care by implementing physician orders and nursing procedures, documenting accurately in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
  • Verify patient identification prior to providing and documenting care.
  • Communicate and deliver care that respects the age, cultural, spiritual, and developmental needs of each patient.
  • Utilize EHR tasking appropriately and in a timely manner.
  • Schedule appointments accurately following departmental guidelines.
  • Administer injections per established protocols and document them correctly in the EHR.
  • Demonstrate effective telephone triage protocols and document interactions in the EHR.
  • Promptly communicate any issues or concerns to the Office Supervisor/Manager.
  • Prepare for patient visits by gathering necessary information.
  • Accurately obtain and document vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, height, and weight in the EHR.
  • Review and update medication lists in the EHR, ensuring understanding of prescription controls and refill procedures.
  • Enter orders and schedule appointments in the Practice Management System (PMS) and EHR.
  • Provide timely referrals and consult orders in the PMS and EHR.
  • Assist in the transition of care to urgent care or hospital settings as needed.
General Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to universal safety precautions when administering medications and disposing of medical waste.
  • Maintain proficiency with department-specific equipment, reporting any malfunctions promptly.
  • Check and maintain logs for emergency equipment in accordance with policy.
  • Assist in the ordering and maintenance of supplies as assigned.
  • Exhibit flexibility with varying work schedules.
  • Recognize and perform necessary duties that may not be directly assigned.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to push and pull objects, considering frequency and weight.
  • Physical strength to lift heavy items, carts, or equipment, considering frequency and weight.
  • Mobility to move from place to place on the job, considering distance and speed.
  • Agility to maneuver the body while stationary.
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers.
  • Maintain balance while climbing, bending, or reaching.
  • Endurance for continuous typing, prolonged standing, bending, and walking.
Environmental Considerations:
  • Exposure to chemicals, chemotherapy agents, and fumes.
  • Potential for loud noises and vibrations.
  • Working in extreme temperatures and confined spaces.
  • Allergens such as dust, mold, and pollen.
  • Exposure to magnetic fields and radiation.
  • Handling sharps and latex materials.
Infection Control:
  • Risk of exposure to infectious hazards, blood, body fluids, and non-intact skin.
  • Possible contact with patients or patient specimens.
  • Unplanned or unexpected exposure to infectious materials.
Qualifications:
  • Completion of a Vocational/Technical School or Diploma Program is required; an Associate's degree is preferred.
  • New Jersey State Nursing License and BLS certification are mandatory.
  • 0 - 1 years of experience required; 2-4 years preferred.
  • Proficient communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational abilities.
  • Capability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Familiarity with standard office equipment and technology in a Windows environment is preferred.
  • Experience with patient care equipment and EHR systems is advantageous.
Travel Requirements: Ability to commute to various locations as necessary.
