Assembler / Tester 2 (Floater) - 2nd shift

GE Aviation is seeking a skilled Assembler / Tester 2 (Floater) to join our team. As an Assembler / Tester, you will be responsible for assembling high-quality electronics for aircraft cockpits. You will use various hand tools related to electronics assembly, including crimpers, soldering irons, and wire strippers.
Key ResponsibilitiesAssemble parts according to process sheet/print instructions.
Perform electrical, mechanical, magnetic testing as required.
Perform in-process hi-pot testing; Perform basic set up of fixtures.
Perform vapor blasting as required; Perform inventory counts and verification.
Assist with proto-type or first time builds with guidance from higher level employees.
Assist Engineering and/or Team in development and/or improvement of layout procedures and process sheets.
Review expiration date of materials to ensure materials & equipment to ensure all are current.
Proactively work to improve efficiency and quality of products; Good housekeeping skills.
Possess inspection stamp as required; Utilize proper PPE, safety equipment, and follow safety procedures.
Cross-train other employees as needed based upon knowledge and experience.
Compliantly complete all written and/or electronic labor tracking documentation.
Perform basic Oracle transactions as required.
Report problems to appropriate resource and/or Coach.
Keep all shift operators informed on special problems involving operation or set up.
Communicate with team to ensure all team members are aware of new processes and/or issues. May interact with internal cross-functional teams (i.e. – planning).
May act as primary contact for auditors.
May require FAA certification.
Perform troubleshooting responsibilities; Other duties as required per department.
Participates in and support team initiatives.
Utilizes proper PPE, safety equipment, and follow safety procedures per position requirements.
Understands and abides by the GE Leadership behaviors.
Other duties as be required.
High School Education or GED equivalency.
1 year manufacturing experience.
Intermediate understanding of blueprint and process sheet interpretation.
Ability and willingness to use basic hand tools (crimpers, soldering iron, wire strippers, brazing equipment, etc.) and measuring devices (calipers, micrometers, rulers, etc.).
Ability and willingness to operate high temperature ovens and furnaces.
Ability and willingness to pass Visual Acuity Exam as necessary.
Ability and willingness to obtain Solder, Braze, and Electro-Static discharge certification as required.
This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employment.
GE Aviation offers a competitive compensation package, including a $19/hour base pay plus a $2 shift differential. Additionally, this position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary/commission based on the plan.
