Job Overview

Turner & Townsend is seeking a skilled Cost Manager / Estimator to join our team in Chandler, AZ, supporting a high-profile semiconductor manufacturing client on their large-scale construction expansion and development program.

Responsibilities:

* Provide accurate and timely cost estimates and negotiations throughout the construction lifecycle.

* Develop and present comprehensive cost plans, including final cost planning and reconciliation.

* Collaborate with the design services team and general contractor to review and develop cost estimates.

* Reconcile changes and ensure accurate data from the general contractor.

* Communicate with the general contractor and owner project manager to gather status information and prepare cost estimate updates.

* Prepare written comments and executive summaries for the general contractor's submissions.

* Coordinate cost information from various sources, including suppliers, subcontractors, and architects/engineers.

* Inform and drive engineering priorities based on cost impact.

* Work proactively to resolve scheduling issues and manage cost checks and valuations.

* Participate in post-contract cost variances and change control processes.

* Manage cost impact, contingency management, and commitment tracking logs.

* Prepare funding data presentations and coordinate value engineering sessions with stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

* Pre-Contract:

* Develop cost plans and estimates through the design phase, delivering updated cost plans at design milestones.

* Provide commercial input to design optioneering and value engineering exercises.

* Review contractor and subcontractor pricing and lead negotiations on behalf of the client.

* Post-Contract:

* Perform quantity surveying, cost controls, and change management activities throughout the project lifecycle.

* Ensure effective management of post-contract cost variances and change control processes.

* Manage cost auditing and valuation work, ensuring a robust process for cost validation.

* Produce monthly cost reports for presentation to the client.

* Negotiate and agree final accounts in a timely manner.

* Compile as-built cost estimate records for benchmarking purposes.
