Ochsner Health is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CT Technologist to join our Diagnostic Imaging team. As a CT Technologist, you will be responsible for assessing patients and safely performing routine CT procedures in accordance with prescribed radiation safety procedures and protocols.
Key Responsibilities- Verify physician orders and procedures to ensure accuracy.
- Utilize radiology information systems to facilitate patient care.
- Explain procedures to patients to ensure understanding.
- Independently operate equipment to complete imaging procedures according to protocol.
- Review patient images prior to transmission to ensure diagnostic quality standards.
- Complete timely quality control procedures and perform notification/remediation as warranted.
- Assist in the facilitation of departmental operations, including inventory management, staff scheduling, and equipment maintenance.
- Adapt behavior to meet the specific needs of patients, including respect for privacy and effective communication.
- Completion of an approved Radiologic Technology program.
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and/or computed tomography ARRT (CT) certified.
- Current unrestricted license in the state of practice.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Advanced certification in CT required within one year of becoming CT registry eligible.
- Experience working in a healthcare setting, preferably in a radiology department.
The physical demands of this role include exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. The incumbent must be able to stoop, bend, reach, and grab with arms and hands, and must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time.
