Position Overview

Geodesicx, Inc. is seeking a Senior Engineering Support Specialist to join our dedicated team.

The Senior Engineering Support Specialist plays a crucial role in providing high-level technical assistance in the evaluation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of shipboard systems related to Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) as well as Command and Control (C2) frameworks across various platforms, ensuring effective support for Department of Defense users.

Primary Duties:

  • Conduct thorough inspections on Depot Level Repairable (DLR) items returned from fleet operations to assess and restore them to a Ready for Issue (RFI) state.
  • Assist in addressing Casualty Repairs (CASREPs) and fleet malfunction incidents to restore systems to full operational capability.
  • Engage with suppliers to oversee warranty repair processes and maintain updates on helpdesk inquiries.
  • Inspect incoming materials for any damage prior to logging them into the inventory management system.
  • Perform Not Ready for Issue (NRFI) Screening/Testing to confirm failure incidents on assets categorized as NRFI.
  • Investigate whether an NRFI asset is covered under warranty before initiating repair procedures.
  • Verify requisitions using Allowance Parts Lists (APLs) and other relevant configuration data.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of six (6) years of practical experience combined with an Associate's Degree in Engineering Technology, mathematics, or a related field; or ten (10) years of experience with a High School diploma or GED.
  • Extensive experience in the design, development, and assembly of significant units, devices, or equipment; conducting tests or experiments; evaluating results; and improving equipment functionality.
  • Capability to manage complex and non-routine tasks, demonstrating responsibility for planning and executing a complete project of limited scope independently or a segment of a larger initiative.

Educational Background:

  • Associate's Degree in Engineering Technology, mathematics, or a related discipline; or
  • Formal electronics training from a Technical School, Class A or B military school in electronics or communications, or completion of a four-year electronics apprenticeship program; or
  • High School diploma or GED.
