An exceptional opportunity awaits an Insurance Examiner III with the State of Vermont's Captive Insurance Division. As a Risk Assessment Professional III, you will be responsible for evaluating the operational efficiency and business practices of captive insurance companies domiciled in Vermont.

Job Overview

With a focus on risk management, you will conduct examinations and provide ongoing oversight to ensure compliance with Vermont regulations. This critical role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication to convey findings and recommendations to stakeholders.

About the Position

This is an exciting opportunity to join the State of Vermont's team as a Risk Assessment Professional III. You will be working closely with various task forces, conducting research, and participating in special projects. The ideal candidate must be self-motivated, possess excellent time management skills, and have a proven track record of delivering high-quality results.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must possess:

  • A Master's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field; or
  • Bachelor's degree with at least 4 years of experience in accounting, auditing, or financial examination, including 1 year of experience in financial accounting for insurance enterprises;
  • Or 18 months of experience as an Insurance Examiner II with the State of Vermont, with satisfactory completion of departmental performance requirements.

Please note that obtaining CPA or AFE designation within 2 years of hire is mandatory.

The estimated annual salary for this position is $85,000-$115,000, based on experience and qualifications.
