Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Technologist to join our team at St. Luke's Warren Campus in Phillipsburg, NJ. As a Medical Technologist, you will be responsible for performing laboratory tests, operating laboratory instrumentation, and troubleshooting equipment. You will also be involved in teaching and training students and new employees, as well as participating in quality control and problem-solving activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform laboratory tests according to established protocols and guidelines.
  • Operate laboratory instrumentation and equipment to perform tests and analyze results.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and instrumentation with the aid of technical services.
  • Perform phlebotomy duties as assigned and participate in quality control activities.
  • Assume responsibility for problem-solving, teaching, and training students and new employees.
  • Monitor inventory of supplies and report low levels to the appropriate personnel.
  • Accurately transcribe test results or enter results into the laboratory information system.
  • Follow established policies regarding proper documentation of critical values, reagent lot numbers, and other quality assurance data.
  • Attend continuing education or training sessions to meet minimum standards of accrediting agencies.
Requirements
  • MLS/MT/MLT (ASCP) or equivalent certification.
  • Successful completion of an accredited MLS/MT/MLT program or equivalent work experience.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and stand for long periods.
