Job Overview

MacKay Sposito is currently seeking a full-time Mechanical/Electrical Powerhouse Inspector. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to navigate and comprehend project specifications, as well as blueprints and drawings. This role involves conducting on-site observations, thorough documentation, and inspections of hydroelectric powerhouse systems, both internally and externally, to ensure adherence to relevant project plans, specifications, codes, and regulations.

  • Perform physical inspections and document findings in real-time, communicating any non-compliance issues directly with contractors.

Qualifications for Success:

  • Preferred qualifications include a degree in construction management or engineering, or experience as a journeyman wireman, millwright, or craftsperson.
  • Experience in powerhouse or substation environments is essential.
  • Proficiency in documentation through daily reports and photographic evidence is required.
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with project stakeholders.
  • Expertise in construction safety regulations and safe work practices.
  • Knowledge of confined space procedures, crane rigging, and welding inspection techniques.

  • Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a good driving record.
