POSITION SUMMARY:


The selected candidates will undergo a comprehensive onboarding and training program lasting 4-8 weeks, which includes rotations in operations and Sales & Service. Upon successful completion, candidates will be positioned as Retail Personal Banker I.

This role is centered around utilizing a consultative sales approach to proactively identify and fulfill the financial needs of our customers and prospects.

The Personal Banker I plays a crucial role in acquiring new households and enhancing existing customer relationships through various activities, including leading in the lobby or engaging with customers in the aisles.

Responsibilities include processing teller transactions and collaborating as part of the platform staff.

We prioritize risk management by encouraging open dialogue, addressing concerns, and adhering to established policies and procedures.

Our commitment is to always act in the best interest of our customers and colleagues, ensuring a positive customer experience.

While operating within the Bank's risk parameters, you will achieve results by effectively identifying, assessing, managing, and reporting risks.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


- Employ the consultative sales process and Financial Needs Assessment to create a comprehensive customer profile and identify both current and future financial requirements.

- Maintain extensive knowledge of retail consumer and small business products/services, recommending suitable solutions based on our value proposition.

- Utilize approved marketing tools to proactively engage with customers and schedule appointments for regular financial reviews.

- Focus on cross-selling to the existing customer base and participate in outside sales activities, such as community financial literacy events.

- Foster strong working relationships with assigned Business Partners (Mortgage, Small Business, Commercial, and Investment) to provide timely and comprehensive financial solutions.

- Consistently meet or exceed customer experience and production goals, contributing to year-over-year revenue growth as reflected in the Financial Center's performance.

- Provide support to Customer Service Representatives regarding the sales and referral process.

- Promote customer satisfaction through a friendly demeanor and professionalism.

- Address customer inquiries confidently and take ownership of customer issues.

- Maintain confidentiality and uphold trust in all business dealings.

- Adhere to the Bancorp Code of Business Conduct and Ethics, ensuring ethical behavior at all times.

- Follow established policies and procedures while servicing the full range of retail products.

- Participate in the consumer loan and bankcard processes, managing sourced loans from application to closing.

- Assist in the opening and closing processes of the Financial Center as directed.

- Stay informed about retail procedures to mitigate fraudulent activities and reduce risk exposure.


SUPERVISORY ROLE:
No supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- A college degree or relevant work experience, or a combination of both.
- Preferred experience in the financial sector.

- Proven ability to engage in sales activities aimed at acquiring new consumer households and small business customers, as well as cross-selling to established clients.

- Proficiency in advanced math functions for analyzing credit and financial data.

- Ability to represent Fifth Third Bank professionally in appearance and communication.

- Demonstrated understanding of retail policies and procedures to make informed decisions.

- This position requires S.A.F.E. Act registration upon employment through the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS).


WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Standard office setting.
- Extended periods of viewing computer screens.
- Flexibility in scheduling and travel may be required for training purposes.
