Position SummaryThe Site Operations Supervisor embodies the core principles of Ownership, Trust, and Teamwork. This role demands a strong commitment to safety and effective team leadership. The Supervisor will champion our Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) initiatives, ensuring the protection of employees, clients, and assets, thereby facilitating a safe return home for all team members each day. This position is vital for achieving organizational success through diligence, integrity, and the development of oneself and others.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct leadership and oversight for a team of over 30 field personnel.
- Assist the Area Manager and General Manager in implementing and managing company objectives.
- Engage daily with Area Staff to foster Continuous Improvement across all business functions.
- Balance responsibilities between fieldwork (80%) and administrative tasks (20%).
- Ensure adherence to safety, quality, training, employee engagement, and retention standards.
- Safeguard the company's workforce, clients, and assets by enforcing safe work practices.
- Mentor, inspire, and develop the assigned team of field personnel.
- Build and maintain relationships with new and existing clients to drive business growth.
- Conduct job site and vehicle inspections, participate in pre-bid meetings, and collaborate with clients in the field as necessary.
- Address customer service concerns promptly and efficiently, ensuring the highest level of service.
- Assist in the preparation of daily work schedules.
- Monitor daily employee matters, including payroll, timekeeping, benefits, and training needs.
- Facilitate team-building initiatives and maintain regular communication with team members.
- Support the training of new and existing employees to enhance retention, efficiency, and reduce labor costs.
- Obtain necessary certifications and become proficient in work zone setup/design and professional flagging.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- A 4-year degree in a business-related field is advantageous but not mandatory.
- A High School Diploma or GED is required.
- 1-2 years of supervisory experience with teams of 20 or more members.
- Ability and enthusiasm for engaging with field-level clients and contacts.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Capability to cultivate and sustain working relationships with team members.
- Contribute to the engagement and ongoing development of AWP Safety personnel.
- Intermediate proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office and customer relationship management systems.
- Commitment to promoting safe workplace practices.
- A valid driver's license and compliance with AWP Safety's driving standards.
The employee must be capable of managing the physical demands of this role, which include:
- Variable hours based on staffing needs and workload.
- Ability to work in various physical positions, including sitting, standing, walking, and driving.
- Regular exposure to diverse weather conditions, alongside indoor work in controlled environments.
- Majority of time spent in the field (80%).
- Potential to lift or carry objects weighing up to 40 pounds.
- Company-provided vehicle with a fuel card, including qualified personal use privileges.
