We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Manager to join our team at CAM Industrial Solutions. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for leading our safety program, managing field maintenance operations, and delivering workforce requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead our safety program and set expectations for general foremen, foremen, and craft personnel.
- Manage field maintenance operations within assigned areas, ensuring compliance with corporate, provincial, and federal safety codes and standards.
- Deliver workforce requirements, including requisitioning, onboarding, and assigning craft personnel to crews.
- Schedule work to be performed and review work accomplished by each craft, ensuring required headcount is met.
- Prepare schedules, construction methods, and procedures, as well as reports and forecasts, including summary of progress, job workforce forecasts, and expenditures forecast.
- Supervise and direct subordinate personnel and craftsmen in construction activities within assigned areas, ensuring implementation of corporate/project policies, procedures, and instructions.
- Coordinate activities with other disciplines or areas, and clients' resident representatives as instructed by management.
- Perform personnel evaluations, ensuring subordinates complete personnel evaluations, and apply progressive discipline to correct undesirable behaviors.
Requirements
- 5 years of experience in craft ranks, with 3+ years as a superintendent.
- Knowledge of multi-discipline construction, engineering, or maintenance operations.
- Knowledge of supervisory functions relating to field activities.
- Education: High school graduate, or post-secondary degree an asset, or specialized courses in construction technology.
- Extensive actual work experience leading to a thorough understanding of the knowledge described above.
- Possesses intermediate computer skills: Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
