Position Overview:

The Oncology Respiratory Registered Nurse (RN) is a dedicated healthcare professional responsible for the comprehensive assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care within the respiratory oncology unit.

This role requires the RN to effectively utilize the nursing process, integrating advanced technology, therapeutic interventions, and evidence-based practices while collaborating with a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities:

As an Oncology Respiratory RN, you will encounter diverse patient needs daily, necessitating a keen ability to assess and address both psychological and physical health concerns.

  • Deliver exceptional patient care with a focus on the well-being of patients and their families.
  • Engage in compassionate and effective communication with patients and team members.
  • Contribute to the development of personalized treatment plans while adhering to evaluation and documentation standards.
  • Supervise care provided by LPNs and/or CNAs and actively participate in clinical team discussions.
  • Adhere to hospital policies, regulatory standards, and professional guidelines.
Minimum Qualifications:

To qualify for this position, candidates must possess:

  • An Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) from an accredited institution; a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is required within four years.
  • A valid RN license in Colorado.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification endorsed by the American Heart Association.
  • Preferred: At least one year of nursing experience in a similar clinical environment.
Physical Demands:

The role necessitates the ability to:

  • Visually assess and interpret patient information, labels, and equipment.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers, especially in high-pressure situations.
  • Demonstrate manual dexterity for the operation of intricate medical equipment.
  • Engage in frequent computer use for documentation and information retrieval.
  • Lift and maneuver patients and equipment as required, including navigating busy clinical settings.

This position also involves standing for extended periods and the physical capability to transport patients and supplies.
