Athletic Trainer

We are seeking a highly skilled Athletic Trainer to join our team at Mercy Health. As an Athletic Trainer, you will be responsible for evaluating physical conditions and advising and treating athletes to maintain maximum physical fitness for participation in athletic competition.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate physical conditions and develop treatment plans to ensure safe and proper care
- Prescribe routine, preventive, and corrective exercises to strengthen muscles, increase balance, and improve flexibility
- Provide practice, game, and event coverage for assigned areas
- Respond to medical emergencies and provide assessment, stabilization, and first aid
- Make recommendations for athletic participation and return to sport guidelines
- Complete accurate documentation of assessments and referrals
- Refer athletes to physicians for continued care per protocol
- Perform manual techniques and utilize taping and bracing to relieve symptoms and improve function
- Collaborate with sports medicine providers, physicians, and other allied health professionals
- Graduate of an accredited school of Athletic Training
- Licensed as an athletic trainer in WI, IL, or both if required
- Approved CPR or BLS certification required within 90 days
- BOC certification
This is considered medium strength work exerting 25-50 pounds of force occasionally or 10-25 pounds of force frequently. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, and crouch; talk and hear. Occasionally climb/balance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
