Job Summary

Broward County Florida is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Cyber Security Junior Analyst to join our team. As a Cyber Security Junior Analyst, you will be responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and correlating cybersecurity events to identify and mitigate network cybersecurity threats. You will also assist with complex tasks and requests, and escalate or resolve as appropriate.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor, analyze, and correlate cybersecurity events to identify and mitigate network cybersecurity threats.
  • Assist with complex tasks and requests, and escalate or resolve as appropriate.
  • Configure, evaluate, and manage a variety of tools used to prevent cyberattacks against the County's data and infrastructure.
  • Perform risk assessments (audits, third-party security procurement reviews), assess security risks and facilitate remediation of identified cybersecurity threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Develop and implement security policies, standards, and procedures to standardize security controls for the County.
  • Research technology solutions, provide recommendations and lead projects to implement recommendations to address security controls and requirements.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, colleagues, and business partners and others to deliver high-quality security solutions.
  • Remain current in regulatory requirements and industry standards such as NIST, OWASP, HIPAA, PCI, and CJIS.
Requirements
  • Requires a two (2) year degree from an accredited trade, technical or vocational school, college or university with major coursework in computer science or closely related field.
  • One year of relevant experience may be substituted for each year of required education.
  • Requires four (4) years experience in systems analysis and applications programming or closely related experience.
  • Special Certifications and Licenses: None.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Security monitoring analysis, application vulnerability assessments, and mitigation (Security Alert monitoring and response)
  • Strong IT skills and knowledge including hardware, software, networks, databases, and virtualization
  • Security-focused certifications: CISSP, SANS GIAC Security, CEH
  • Fundamental understanding of Operating Systems (Windows, Unix/Linux, and OSX) in support of identifying security vulnerabilities and to have a proper overview of risk profile.
  • Advanced Vulnerability Assessment experience
  • IT Security Systems Support and Administration experience
  • Data Loss Prevention experience
  • Web Application Security Assessment experience
