Military Family Life Counselor PRN

Chenega Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Military Family Life Counselor PRN to join our team. As a licensed mental health professional, you will provide non-medical counseling services to Service Members and their families, helping them navigate life's challenges and build resilience.

Responsibilities:
  • Partner with Service Family Centers, Guard and Reserve programs, and other organizations to build coalitions and connect resources to support Active Duty, Guard, and Reserve families.
  • Identify family needs and develop a get-well plan in compliance with non-medical counseling scope.
  • Provide face-to-face non-medical problem-solving counseling to families when other resources are not available, making referrals and warm transfers to military and community resources as needed.
  • Consult with military commands and installation service providers, develop and use approved training and education programs, and advise on requests for new or revised presentations.
  • Accurately record all required deliverables via the SLICS portal site, including availability for services, activity form submissions, and client tracking.
  • Meet face-to-face and ancillary contact goals, averaging 7 hours of work per week, including 5 hours of face-to-face contact and 3 hours of ancillary contacts daily.
Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in a clinically relevant field from an accredited university.
  • Full license to practice independently in one of the US states and territories as a Clinical Social Worker, Marriage Family Therapist, or Psychologist.
  • Minimum two years of post-license experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to obtain NACI security clearance.
  • Working knowledge of military lifestyle and issues that impact families.
  • Ability to develop and present effective group presentations.
  • Ability to accurately assess needs and make referrals to appropriate resources.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and oversight, using independent judgment.
