Street Maintenance Worker

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Street Maintenance Worker to join our team at the City of West Jordan. As a key member of our Public Works Department, you will be responsible for performing a variety of maintenance, repair, and construction duties related to the city's transportation infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on city streets, including pothole repair, utility restoration, and milling and overlay of entire streets.
- Operate a variety of vehicles and equipment, including dump trucks, front-end loaders, and backhoes, to perform maintenance and construction tasks.
- Assist in snow removal and emergency response efforts, including operating snowplows and other specialized equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance on equipment and vehicles to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Collaborate with other city departments and external agencies to ensure effective communication and coordination.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
- One to four years of experience in a related field, depending on level of certification.
- Valid Utah driver's license and commercial driver's license (CDL) required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with ability to work effectively with diverse groups and individuals.
Work is performed in a variety of outdoor environments, including extreme temperatures, inclement weather, and exposure to hazardous materials. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work at heights.
