Position Overview

Northern Bank is looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented professional to fill the role of Credit Review Analyst II. The ideal candidate will be tasked with performing comprehensive evaluations of financial documents and ensuring the precision of loan submissions.

Key Responsibilities

The successful applicant will:

  • Conduct meticulous reviews of loan submissions to guarantee their accuracy, clarity, and adherence to the highest standards of banking policies.
  • Examine financial statements and perform critical analyses to assess the validity of the information presented.
  • Review presentations prepared by credit analysts across various sectors, including specialty, middle market/real estate, and community/SBA.
  • Support the credit review manager in onboarding and training new team members.
Essential Functions

The role includes, but is not limited to:

  • Identifying errors, discrepancies, and incomplete analyses.
  • Evaluating the soundness of assumptions and adjustments made by underwriters in future cash flow analyses, particularly for franchise operations.
  • Assessing the accuracy of construction budgets, rental income projections, property valuations, and profitability assessments in real estate.
  • Determining if risk factors are sufficiently addressed by proposed mitigants.
  • Providing accurate analyses, recommendations, and additional language for loan presentations after thorough evaluations.
  • Ensuring compliance with banking regulations and loan policies.
  • Assisting in the training of new hires within the department.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related quantitative field.
  • Strong quantitative skills and experience.
  • 0 - 3 years of relevant work experience.
  • The ability to manage competing deadlines effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to identify discrepancies in data.
  • A solid understanding of financial statements, ratios, and financial principles.
