About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Product Owner to join our team at Arapahoe County Department of Human Services. As a Product Owner, you will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of technology products and services that meet the business needs of Human Services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage strategic short-term and long-term roadmaps for technology products and services.
  • Act as liaison between Human Services and IT regarding software/hardware needs for HSConnects.
  • Oversee the HSC Project Manager position.
  • Lead information gathering conversations with Human Services end users to obtain needs, requirements, and determine scope and prioritization of activities.
  • Relationships with State partners, including being a member of governance groups for CBMS, PEAK, ASCES, CHATS, and Trails.
  • Ability to receive and provide feedback on TDDs created for upcoming changes to State systems.
  • Align User Acceptance Training activities in HS to ensure they are completed in full by the various divisions.
  • Responsible for relationship and consensus building across the entire HS Department as it pertains to HSC.
  • Assist with troubleshooting as issues arise in HSC due to external factors or internal factors.
Requirements
  • Advanced skills in writing/creating business requirements, problem statements, gap analyses, data and process modeling, design thinking, customer interviews, and other necessary artifacts and skills.
  • Advanced skills in Business Data modeling, Business Process modeling, Business process Improvement, Facilitation, Requirements Management, Vendor Management, Business Relationship Management, Design Thinking, Product Management, and Software Development Lifecycles.
  • Ability to present business requirements in a clear manner to gain understanding from audiences internal business users and the technical development team.
  • Ability to actively listen and gain understanding of customers needs, wants, and points of view.
  • Ability to think and plan strategically, and experience in building and managing business technology roadmaps.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in IT related field.
  • 5+ years of functional experience in information technology and the software industry, serving in roles such as Business Analyst, Product Owners, Product Manager or Business Relationship.
  • 4+ years of experience facilitating the development and implementation of technical business initiatives and leading projects relating to management objectives and/or business analysis.
  • 3+ years of experience in a leadership role within Human Services supervising or administering programs.
