POSITION SUMMARY

The Construction Management Supervisor will execute assigned responsibilities under the guidance of the Director of Development & Modernization (D&M). This role involves overseeing all stages of construction projects funded by HANO, ensuring adherence to contract specifications while maintaining timelines and budget constraints. The Construction Management Supervisor will manage each project from initial planning through to completion, collaborating with construction professionals and stakeholders. This position may require travel to various project sites as needed.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The following points outline the primary duties and responsibilities associated with this role. This is not an exhaustive list of all tasks that may be assigned.

  • Evaluates architectural and engineering plans to confirm compliance with HANO program and design standards.
  • Engages with administrative personnel, laborers, and clients to clarify the terms and conditions of construction agreements.
  • Monitors contractor performance and project progress across all assigned phases.
  • Administers construction contracts and verifies that all necessary permits and licenses are obtained.
  • Tracks construction schedules and associated expenses to ensure timely project completion within budget.
  • Observes construction activities to ensure compliance with contract documents.
  • Reports any identified code violations or potential safety concerns to the D&M Director.
  • Communicates project progress and any necessary modifications to construction and contract documents to the Director of D&M.
  • Drafts project-specific contract language and negotiates amendments, changes, and additions with architects, consultants, clients, and contractors.
  • Prepares and submits budget estimates along with progress and cost tracking reports.
  • Reviews contractor quality assurance programs.
  • Takes proactive measures to address delays, adverse weather conditions, or emergencies at construction sites.
  • Collaborates with supervisors, contractors, and design professionals to resolve issues related to work procedures, complaints, and construction challenges.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree in construction management or a related discipline is required. Graduate engineers or architects may also be considered if they have supplementary training in business administration and accounting. A minimum of five years of experience in assisting or supervising construction projects of increasing complexity is essential. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be acceptable.

This position may necessitate regular driving for business purposes. The incumbent must possess a valid driver's license and be eligible for coverage under HANO's automobile insurance policy at standard rates.
