Cleveland Clinic is seeking a highly skilled Radiation Oncology Physicist to join our team. As a key member of our radiation therapy department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and safety of our treatment planning and delivery equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure accurate calibration and configuration of treatment planning and delivery equipment, including linear accelerators, brachytherapy sealed sources, treatment planning computers, dose verification software, and quality assurance and survey equipment.
- Participate in quality assurance programs consistent with American Association of Physicists in Medicine recommendations, including monthly and annual quality assurance tests of equipment and weekly checks of patient charts.
- Collect accurate treatment planning and patient dosimetry data, perform and verify treatment planning calculations, and related patient billing.
- Provide accurate data collection, management, and transmission in support of research protocols selected by department chairman, ensuring compliance with study credentialing requirements.
- Act as an expert resource for the Lead Medical Physicist in equipment purchase, selection, and development of new treatment modalities, regulatory compliance, and billing issues.
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations, and assist and support the Radiologic student program, providing supervision and feedback to students as they perform procedures.
- Maintain applicable certification/licensure, including American Board of Radiology (ABR) or American Board of Medical Physics (ABMP) certification.
- Follow hospital and department policies and procedures, with special attention to attendance and punctuality, confidentiality, dress code, and display of ID badge, and safety.
- Bachelor's Degree in medical physics or in a biophysics.
- Master's degree in medical physics, biophysics, physics, or closely related field may be substituted for one year required experience.
- Minimum five years' experience in clinical radiation therapy physics.
- Minimum three years' experience in applied medical physics, preferably at a medical broad scope licensee, requiring professional level judgment and involving radiation safety.
