Fleet Mechanic Job Description

At US Foods, Inc., we are seeking a skilled Fleet Mechanic to join our team. As a Fleet Mechanic, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing diesel equipment, including tractors, trailers, bobtails, reefers, and lift gates.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose diesel equipment issues
  • Perform preventative maintenance according to company standards
  • Complete documentation of repair orders, PM lists, and parts accountability
  • Backup other maintenance shop personnel
Requirements:
  • 2 years of verifiable hands-on experience as a heavy-duty commercial diesel mechanic or reefer mechanic
  • Diagnostic and troubleshooting competency relating to equipment repairs
  • CDL A and DOT certification preferred
  • Ability to comply with EPA and OSHA regulations
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends
  • Ability to work overtime when needed
