ChristianaCare is in search of a Medical Imaging Specialist to join our dedicated team.

Position Overview

The Medical Imaging Specialist plays a vital role in overseeing the daily operations within the Document Imaging department.

PRIMARY FUNCTION

The individual will be responsible for managing the daily tasks associated with Document Imaging.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Oversee daily Document Imaging operations and assign tasks to team members.
  • Keep management informed about workflow status and any issues that arise.
  • Coordinate schedules and ensure efficient processing of records.
  • Manage timely collection and tracking of charts, ensuring all records are accounted for.
  • Prepare records for scanning and indexing, addressing any retrieval issues promptly.
  • Maintain effective communication with various departments to facilitate smooth operations.
  • Monitor the status of records and document any concerns to management.
  • Assist in matching patient records for messages sent from external providers.
  • Support scanning activities and ensure priority records are processed in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with the Health Information Management team to correct any discrepancies in electronic records.
  • Conduct quality checks on scanned documents to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Participate in training and development of team members, providing feedback on performance.
  • Stay updated on departmental policies and recommend improvements as necessary.
  • Utilize office equipment and software to perform job functions effectively.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and report any unsafe conditions immediately.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with a preference for candidates with college credits. A minimum of two years of experience in document imaging is preferred, or an associate degree from an accredited Health Information Management program.
