About the Role

At Charles E. Smith Life Communities, we are seeking a skilled Bus Driver to join our team. As a Bus Driver, you will be responsible for safely transporting residents to various destinations, including shopping trips and cultural events. This is a full-time position requiring weekday and weekend availability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive residents on scheduled trips and ensure their safety at all times.
  • Assist with getting packages on and off the bus.
  • Escort residents on trips, as needed, from the point they disembark to their return to the bus.
  • Maintain the bus to provide a clean and safe environment for passengers.
  • Provide emergency transportation to staff and/or residents in the process of evacuating the building.
  • Report any deviations in bus functions and incidents with residents as they arise.
  • Maintain attendance records and daily logs.
  • Assist with activity programming, as needed.
  • Provide light clerical support for other departments as needed.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • A valid Class C Commercial Driver's License and a clean driving record are required.
  • Three (3) years of experience as a driver preferred.
