Job Description

A Polysomnography Technician performs routine sleep testing for diagnosis and therapeutic analysis of sleep disorders under the supervision of the Sleep Lab Manager. This involves setting up equipment, instructing patients, administering oxygen, CPAP, and ventilatory assist devices in accordance with established protocols.

Responsibilities:
  • Calibrate, maintain, and clean monitoring and recording equipment.
  • Recognize sleep pathology and respond with appropriate interventions to ensure patient safety.
  • Order and stock supplies for the sleep lab.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful as a Polysomnography Technician, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • RPSGT registry required.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a sleep lab setting.
  • BLS certification.
  • Successful completion of a polysomnography program or credentialed by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologist.
  • Successful completion of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine Approved A-STEP Program.
