Job Summary and Responsibilities

  • We are seeking a Civil Engineering Student Summer Intern in the Midwest.
  • Under the direction of a licensed Professional Engineer, you will prepare designs, construction drawings, quantity take-offs, documents, reports, schedules, opinions of costs, and specifications for various projects.
  • You will assist in the design and plan development of a project using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • You will assist with topographic and construction staking survey work with Civil Engineering Technicians.
  • You will assist the Professional Engineer with client meetings as required for projects.
  • You will observe construction projects to monitor progress, verify quantities, and ensure adherence to design plans and specifications.
  • You will perform other duties as assigned under the direction of a licensed Professional Engineer.

Qualifications

  • You must be currently enrolled to receive a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, or an Associate's Degree in Civil Engineering Technology.
  • Computer experience using Microsoft Office products and AutoCAD Civil 3D is preferred.
  • You must be a self-motivated team member with a positive attitude and ability to multi-task and establish priorities.
  • You must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • You must have a valid driver's license and be able to travel to various job sites as required.
  • You must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
