Role Overview:

We are looking for a committed Safety and Compliance Advisor to take a pivotal role in crafting and executing health and safety enhancement strategies. This position will aid in nurturing a company-wide safety ethos, concentrating on injury prevention and risk mitigation tactics. Core responsibilities encompass pinpointing opportunities, strategies, and a cohesive approach to minimize hazards and reduce incident rates. This includes scrutinizing claim data, collaborating closely with various departmental teams, performing risk evaluations, formulating behavior modification initiatives, and developing safety resources and training materials under the direction of the risk manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulate and implement organizational safety policies, procedures, and protocols in line with industry standards and regulatory mandates
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on health and safety policies, protocols, and procedures, emphasizing employee welfare
  • Execute safety and risk reduction initiatives in partnership with operations and HR, employing data-driven methodologies
  • Establish KPIs and metrics for tracking employee safety performance and driving continuous improvement initiatives
  • Examine claim data to identify trends and patterns, and coordinate investigations into workplace incidents
  • Engage in safety committee meetings, conduct risk assessments, and deliver safety training
  • Collaborate with external safety professionals to bolster risk mitigation efforts
  • Manage communication platforms to enhance health, safety, and risk awareness throughout the organization

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or a minimum of 5 years of experience in health & safety, risk management, or quality assurance
  • Prior experience in hospital, consumer care, or human services settings is advantageous
  • Nationally recognized safety, environmental, and health certifications are a plus

  • Familiarity with workers' compensation and liability claims processes
  • Effective organization, prioritization, and documentation skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, conflict resolution, and mediation abilities
