Job Description

Electrical Consultants, Inc. is seeking a skilled professional to join our team as a Substation Designer. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for supporting the conceptual, preliminary, and final design of substation and transmission line projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare detailed drawings of structures, layouts, and facilities, including section and detail views and profiles.
  • Develop electrical single lines, AC & DC schematics, and wiring drawings.
  • Contribute to project drawings through preliminary selection of alternatives, layouts, and arrangements.
  • Collaborate with engineering departments to execute and review project assignments.
  • Stay up-to-date with software releases and upgrades to maintain advanced skill levels.
  • Assist in training and advancing skills for less-experienced designing and drafting department personnel.
Requirements:
  • 8+ years of experience in electric substation design, including schematics, wiring diagrams, physical layout, and facility design.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, results-oriented, and capable of completing design assignments with minimal direction.
  • A strong work ethic with attention to detail, quality, schedule, and budget.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
