Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Secretary/Assistant to join our team at the Pulmonary and Sleep Center of New England.

The Pulmonary and Sleep Center of New England is a renowned healthcare facility dedicated to providing top-notch medical services to patients with respiratory and sleep disorders.

Responsibilities
  • Print schedules and encounter forms to review patient information and insurance benefits.
  • Locate and process referrals as necessary.
  • Understand prior authorizations and ensure timely processing.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and staff to provide exceptional care.
  • Assist in setting up testing equipment and ensure proper functioning.
  • Filing of paper documentation via scanning into patient electronic medical records.
  • Computer literate with basic knowledge of Microsoft products.
  • Rooming patients, taking vital signs, and documenting medication.
  • Participates in weekly staff meetings to discuss ongoing projects and goals.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred but not required.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
  • 2+ years' experience in a medical office setting (preferably in a fast-paced environment)
  • Proficiency in electronic medical records and computer skills
