Position Title

Mid-Level Blast Test Engineer

  • Location: Atlantic City, NJ
  • Security Clearance: Active Clearance or Eligible to Obtain - U.S. citizenship required
  • Salary: $114,000 - $129,000 Based on Experience and Education
  • Travel Requirements: 20%

Role Summary

We are seeking a Mid-Level Blast Test Engineer to contribute to our Aberdeen Research Operation. This role is essential in advancing your career while supporting the defense sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducts engineering design and analysis for complex security systems, assessing their potential for development and integration into homeland security applications.
  • Operates independently, reviewing and providing feedback on test plans and procedures; executes tests, gathers data, and compiles assessment reports.
  • Develops work breakdown structures and identifies critical path elements to ensure project success.
  • Demonstrates strong communication skills, capable of drafting project documents such as plans, test procedures, data analysis reports, and final reports without supervision.
  • Possesses experience in system automation, data collection, analysis, and presentation.
  • Utilizes personal computers proficiently and is familiar with commercial software applications.

Qualifications for Mid-Level Blast Test Engineer

Applicants should possess a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with 9+ years of relevant experience, or a Master's Degree in Engineering with 3+ years of relevant experience. Professional experience should demonstrate a thorough understanding of System, Electrical/Electronic engineering disciplines. Candidates with less experience may still be considered if they meet some of the desired qualifications.

  • Experience in explosive testing, including Commercial Aircraft Vulnerability and mitigation technology.
  • Knowledge of instrumentation and data acquisition techniques for explosive and weapons testing.
  • Expertise in measuring explosive performance and interpreting test results using various instrumentation techniques.
  • Familiarity with modeling and simulation of blast responses in aircraft structures.
  • Understanding of live testing and variables for explosive equations of state.
