Position Summary:
Velos is currently seeking a Senior Engineer specializing in Aircraft Survivability to enhance our team. In this role, you will offer engineering insights to support the development and testing of cutting-edge aircraft.

Your daily interactions will involve collaboration with Air Force program managers and industry experts across various domains, including air, space, and cyber, to assist the government in technical evaluations, strategic planning, and engineering assessments.

Key Responsibilities:
Your essential functions will encompass, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting system engineers in crafting aircraft survivability specifications.
  • Evaluating and reviewing aircraft survivability specifications.
  • Contributing to the formulation of aircraft survivability test plans.
  • Analyzing test data from survivability evaluations.
  • Providing performance assessments.
  • Supporting the creation of survivability support subsystems to enhance aircraft maintainability.
  • Collaborating with contractors and government engineering and testing personnel.

Required Qualifications:
Applicants should possess a minimum of 10 years of specialized experience, demonstrating a thorough understanding of all technical aspects related to aircraft survivability, including visual, audio, infrared, and radio frequency.

Experience in significant systems engineering roles focused on the design, development, and testing of processes, technologies, and subsystems pertinent to aircraft survivability is essential. Specific knowledge of classified testing and evaluation capabilities for developing advanced aircraft characteristics is also required.

Desired Qualifications:
Preferred candidates will have experience with fixed-wing aircrew (pilot or NFO), US Navy or US Marine Corps backgrounds (as opposed to USAF), knowledge of low observable (LO) technologies, acquisition processes, and familiarity with Weapons School.

Education Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field is mandatory.

Clearance Requirements:
An active TOP SECRET clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and prior Special Access Program (SAP) experience is required. U.S. Citizenship is a prerequisite for this position.
