The Registered Respiratory Care Specialist plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered respiratory services, adhering to departmental requirements and professional standards.
As an integral member of the healthcare team, you will:
- Conduct various diagnostic tests and therapeutic procedures.
- Monitor patients on both invasive and noninvasive mechanical ventilation.
- Perform and document thorough patient assessments, including breath sounds and airway management.
- Administer respiratory therapies such as oxygen delivery and aerosol treatments.
- Initiate and maintain mechanical ventilation as prescribed.
Additionally, you will:
- Communicate effectively with physicians regarding the outcomes of respiratory interventions.
- Provide clear explanations to patients and families about respiratory care procedures.
- Review patient charts to ensure compliance with therapy orders.
- Maintain and assess respiratory equipment according to established protocols.
Qualifications for this role include:
- A degree from an accredited institution in Respiratory Therapy.
- A valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in Florida.
- Experience in a hospital setting is preferred.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an accredited provider.
